Happy 4th of July…yesterday

It’s Independence Day (or, it was yesterday), and what a glorious day it turned out to be! We saw an excellent parade celebrating the local police and firemen, featuring the diverse fabric of people that composes Juneau. We even got the sun to make an appearance! It’s always such a treat to experience Juneau on a day like the 4th of July, so those of you who were here on vacation got something really special! Juneau definitely blossoms on days like yesterday, and we’re always proud to be a part of it.

It really does make you appreciate the town you live in when you really get to see it shine. The scores of buoyant, positive people flocking the streets and putting on events, families enjoying the festivities, and enough candy to make you sick; once again, the town came out to join together in the nationally-permeating patriotism, and overall, had a stupendous day!

Independence Day doesn’t have to be the only reason we all decide to get together and have a wonderful time! Who says it’s the end-all for fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, sports games, family reunions, ceremonies, and loving the place that we live in? In fact, we should strive to connect with people in large ways every day. Let’s utilize the good feelings that we feel towards the people around us and the place that we live in, and transform them into positive outlets to show how much we care! It’s never too late to do something fun and wild in a town that we love with the people we cherish, so let’s celebrate our Independence every day!
